How we work
A directory that explains, and never ranks
We are building wc.doctor for people who were hurt at work and now have to find a doctor who takes workers' comp, often while they are in pain and buried in letters. This page sets out exactly what the site is, what it is not, and the rules every page follows.
What wc.doctor is
A planned directory of doctors and clinics in the United States that say they treat workers' compensation patients, built state by state and city by city, starting with Florida and then Texas. Alongside it, plain guides explain the medical steps of a claim.
What wc.doctor is not
- Not a medical provider, clinic or telehealth service. No doctor works for the site.
- Not a source of personal health guidance. We never tell anyone what an injury is, what care to get or when to go back to work. Those are conversations for you and your own doctor.
- Not an endorsement, rating or ranking of any doctor. A listing only says the clinic says it treats workers' comp patients.
- Not affiliated with any insurer, employer, state agency, medical board or provider network.
- Not a place to file a claim or send medical records.
How every page is sourced
- State rules, such as who picks the treating doctor or the notice for an independent medical examination, link to that state's workers' comp agency, with the date we read the page.
- Federal standards are quoted from the agency that writes them: FMCSA for DOT physicals, the Department of Transportation and SAMHSA for drug testing, OSHA for respirator fit testing.
- License facts point to the state medical board, or to the national DocInfo lookup, so you can check a doctor yourself.
- No invented statistics, and no reviews or testimonials we did not collect.
How clinic listings work
Listings start from public facts only: the clinic's name, city and specialty. Clinics that treat workers' comp patients will be able to request a listing or a correction. Some spots on city pages may be paid; every paid spot is labeled Sponsored, and the order of listings never implies quality.
When an appointment request form arrives, it will collect contact details only. We will never ask about your injury, for medical records or for a claim number.
Emergencies
If you are hurt right now, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. This site cannot help in an emergency.
